The Weekly Watch #1

It's the inaugural Weekly Watch, and it's gonna be the best one yet!

So, my goal with The Weekly Watch is to recap all kinds of stuff in Hollywoodtainmentland that happened this week, and also to look forward to next week; and with all kinds of shows starting up soon, it should be quite a journey!  And I'm not talking about the upcoming 3-D movie starring Brenden Fraser - OUR journey will be worth taking!

So, this past week was a lot of political stuff - mainly the New Hampshire primary.  And with the main Democratic battle between Clinton and Obama, I might as well be watching a reality TV show - does anyone else feel like these candidates are more concerned about face time than about running our country?  And Hillary winning - who knew?  All she needs is to start playing saxophone and she's a shoe-in!  But seriously - the main arguments I've been hearing for her candidacy are that "she basically ran the country when Bill was in office, so we just need her to repeat what she already did!"  EXCUSE ME?  Mr. William did a fantastic job of balancing our budget, and I don't believe he handed Hillary the checkbook halfway through his tenure and said, "Here hun, take care of the rest of that for me."  Each candidate has their own views and skills, so STOP judging them based on how cool they seem and START looking at the politics!

So, with that out of the way, we move onto football - more specifically, the BCS Championship from Monday night.  I have to say, it was the closest matchup of the entire Bowl Game series (and that isn't saying much).  But, alas, being the most exciting game still wasn't enough - it was a landslide by the end, and.... ah, what am I trying to do, sugarcoat it and sound all "reporter-ly"?  HOW BOUT THEM TIGERS?!?  LSU really rocked that field and proved that being named #2 can be a seriously false pretense.

So, onto our Preview Forecast, and guess what?   It's new shows week!  Sunday will bring my most anticipated new show, The Sarah Connor Chronicles!  Terminator MINUS Arnold Schwarzanegger - what more could anybody ask for?  And only one year after 2007, the year when, according to the movies, Skynet became Self-Aware?  GET IN THE CHOPPAA!!

And of course, media juggernaut American Idol returns to the airwaves with a Seventh season; do I have to say anything?  No.  Will I?  Of course!  I can only pray that we won't get the one reject that makes it through, even though I know he/she still will.  I'm so SICK of all the Sanjayas and Kevin Covais and Ricky Smiths.  How do they slip through the seive?  Watching them isn't even a guilty pleasure anymore - it just sucks.  Hopefully, this year the good ones will be good enough to outweigh the losers - and maybe the best one might actually WIN (that's right Jordin - you didn't deserve it)!

And on a quick side note, don't miss Prison Break coming back on Monday - the mid-season premiere looks pretty awesome!

That's it for the Weekly Watch #1 people... feel free to comment and MAYBE I'll be back next week!

SEACREST OUT!
